* Oakland Two More Homicides July 19th Avery Thompson And Francisco Villasenor Both Shot To Death

Two homicides in Oakland early this morning claimed the lives of an 18-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, a police spokesman said.The first shooting was reported at about 12:10 a.m. in the 1000 block of 14th Street at Chestnut Street, according to Oakland police Officer Jeff Thomason.Arriving officers found the victim, 49-year-old Avery Thompson of Oakland, suffering from gunshot wounds, Thomason said.Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Thomason.About four hours later, another shooting was reported in the 2900 block of East Seventh Street, Thomason said.Francisco Villasenor, 18, was found on a sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Thomason.Villasenor, an Oakland resident, was also pronounced dead at the scene.The motives for both shootings remain under investigation, Thomason said.
