* Vallejo Men Marquise Johnson And Jesus Piedra Shot, Believed Gang-Related

A Vallejo man who was shot multiple times near Washington Park late last night was in critical condition this morning, police said.Police responded to a report of a shooting at 11:59 p.m. in the area of El Dorado and Ohio streets. They found 21-year-old Jesus Piedra of Vallejo wounded in the street, Lt. Ken Weaver said. Piedra was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he underwent surgery, Lt. Abel Tenorio said.Based on interviews with witnesses, police believe the shooting was gang-related, Tenorio said.Police responded to another shooting minutes later in the 300 block of Arkansas Street, about half a mile from where the first shooting happened. Marquise Johnson, 18, of Vallejo, was shot once in the lower leg by someone in a car, Tenorio said. His injuries are not life-threatening.There also was a report around 11 p.m. Tuesday of bullets from an assault rifle striking a vehicle on Arrowhead Drive in north Vallejo, Tenorio said.Vallejo saw its seventh homicide this year on Friday night when Osbaldo Rodriges, 36, of Vallejo, was shot to death in the area of Enterprise Street and Yolano Drive. There have been no arrests in the murder.
