San Carlos police arrested three teenagers in connection with two separate burglary and theft incidents Thursday and early Friday morning, and credited the help of neighbors in solving both cases. The first incident occurred at about 11 a.m. Thursday when someone in the 2400 block of Eaton Avenue saw a vehicle pull up and park across the street from his home, according to police. The man saw two suspects enter the backyard of a neighbor’s home, wrote down the license plate of the vehicle and notified the homeowner, who arrived home a couple hours later to see that her home had been burglarized, police said. Due to the license plate information, police Friday arrested two 18-year-old men for burglary and possession of stolen property. Jose Pinon of East Palo Alto and Nicolas Pinon Aguilar of Redwood City were booked into San Mateo County jail, according to police.
The second incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. Friday when a man in the 200 block of Park Avenue saw a vehicle pull up to his neighbor’s home, and a man got out of the vehicle with a flashlight, police said. The suspect began to look into the window of a vehicle, but saw the neighbor and fled the area. The neighbor called police with a description of the suspect vehicle, and several minutes later an officer stopped it, according to police. A juvenile male was found to be on probation and had violated the terms of the probation. He was arrested and booked into juvenile hall, police said.
