A San Francisco Superior Court judge today sentenced a man convicted of murdering his estranged girlfriend by throwing her out a six-story apartment window to 15 years to life in prison. Frank Green, 51, was convicted in May of second-degree murder for
the Nov. 4, 2005, killing of Ciera Davis, of San Francisco. According to prosecutors, Green beat Davis, 51, inside her apartment at 155 Hyde St. and then threw her from the kitchen window. She landed five stories down on a part of the building one story up from the street, and died at the hospital the next day. Green and Davis had a history of domestic violence over their eight-year relationship, according to prosecutors. DNA evidence from the blood-spattered apartment and Davis’ blood found on Green’s clothing, as well as Green’s blood found on Davis’ clothing, were crucial to the prosecution, which had no eyewitnesses to the killing.
