* Walnut Creek, Murder Charges Filed Against Daniel Avanesyan For Killing Jonart Yambao

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office today filed murder charges against an 18-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing a 17-year-old boy in front of a house party in Walnut Creek late Wednesday, police said.The Walnut Creek Police Department received a call from Kaiser Hospital’s emergency room at about 12:05 a.m. Thursday reporting that the victim’s friends had brought him to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. He died from his injuries at the hospital, Lt. Mark Covington said.The Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified the victim as Rodeo resident Jonart Yambao. Investigators determined that Yambao had been assaulted outside ahouse party on Clover Lane near Nicholson Road. They later arrested Daniel Avanesyan on suspicion of murder, Covington said.Avanesyan, who had murder charges filed against him today, remains in county jail in Martinez on $1 million bail.
