The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man found inside a burning home in the Sebastopol area late Saturday night. The county coroner’s office identified the victim as 50-year-old Bradford Joseph Kolbach, a resident of the home. The results of an autopsy are pending toxicology tests. Kolbach’s body was found at about 11:20 p.m. in the Fredericks
Road residence in rural Sonoma County southeast of Sebastopol. Gold Ridge Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Darrin DeCarli said responding firefighters were told someone might be inside the burning single-story, single-family wood home. The room Kolbach was in did not burn extensively and the cause of the fire and point of origin are still under investigation, DeCarli said. The fire was reported at 10:50 p.m. Saturday and caused an estimated $300,000 to $400,000 in damage, DeCarli said.
