The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a robbery suspect. On Saturday, 04/25/09, at approximately 9:25 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the MeriWest Credit Union, 5615 Chesbro Avenue, in San Jose.  The suspect walked in to the credit union through the west entrance and placed a brick on the ground to prop the front door open.  He immediately went to the teller window, pushed a customer out of the way, and placed a plastic grocery bag on the counter. The suspect brandished a small silver-colored semi-automatic handgun at the teller and demanded money be placed in the bag.  The suspect exited the same door he had entered and fled. The suspect was described as a White or Hispanic male, 25-30 years of age, approximately 5’10” tall, 170 lbs. in weight, last seen wearing a black cloth covering the lower portion of his face, a grey zip-up hooded sweat shirt with the hood up, dark colored jean (denim) pants, and black shoes. Please call the Fugitive Watch hot line at 1-800-9-CAUGHT (1-800-922-8448) or text us at 408-355-0999 if you know the name of this suspect or have any other information that can help solve this crime.
