* Northern California Police K-9 Teams Gather in Sonoma for Competition

Police dogs from across Northern California will travel to Sonoma County on Saturday for the an Law Enforcement K-9 Trials competition.  K-9 teams will compete in events testing dogs’ obedience, agility, searching and patrol deployment skills, according to the Sonoma County Deputy Sheriff Association, which sponsors the event.  Local sheriff’s deputy Tom McNeil and K-9 partner Axl, winners of the 2008 Top Novice Team, will be competing again this year in the open class, according to the sheriff’s department. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds at 1350 Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa.
