A man suspected of abducting an 11-year-old girl from her Salinas home Thursday morning turned himself in to police hours after the girl was found safe, according to the Police Department. Joventino Banegas Bueso, 21, surrendered to the Police Department around 8:40 p.m. and was arrested on suspicion of child abduction. The mother of Maria Roldan told police around 4:30 a.m. Thursday that Bueso had taken the girl and an Amber Alert was issued, police said. Officers found the girl safe in a motel room the same day on the east side of the city around 3:30 p.m., but Bueso was not there. Sgt. Chris Lane said the girl had probably left willingly with Bueso that morning, but he did not know the relationship between the two. Officers found the girl when they followed a green Daewoo sedan to the motel because it fit the description of the car they believe Bueso used.
