A boy who allegedly shot at police officers responding to a robbery in Oakland was arrested late Saturday night, an Oakland Police Department spokesman said. At about 11:55 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of 31st and Market streets in response to a street robbery, police spokesman Jeff Thomason said. The officers saw a juvenile where the robbery occurred, attempted to contact him, and he allegedly left with a loaded firearm, Thomason said. The juvenile fired a round and an officer returned fire, he said. Nearby patrol officers responded and apprehended the suspect and recovered the firearm. No injuries were sustained by the officers or the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
