A Santa Rosa man was arrested early this morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his car on northbound U.S. Highway 101.Saul Borundas Vazquez, 23, lost control of his 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse south of West Sierra Avenue around 2:20 a.m., the CHP reported. Two people walking in the area witnessed the crash.The car veered to the right and struck a dirt embankment and two large signs before rolling at least twice. The car came to rest in the No. 2 lane.The crash caused minor injuries to a passenger, 22-year-old Paola Mora Alvarez of Santa Rosa, the CHP reported. Vazquez, 23, suffered major injuries and is in serious condition at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.Vazquez and Alvarez were wearing seat belts, the CHP said.
