UPDATE-A man was arrested this evening on suspicion of severely beating a 79-year-old man in Richmond Tuesday afternoon, police Sgt. Bisa French said. French said the 21-year-old suspect was arrested on an outstanding theft warrant at about 5:15 p.m. in the area of 28th Street and McBryde Avenue. He was booked into jail on charges of attempted murder and elder abuse, French said. Earlier today, Richmond Police Chief Chris Magnus held a news conference to ask the for the public’s help in finding the man who critically injured Euvaldo Sisneros.
Richmond police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in the brutal attack of a 79-year-old man this afternoon, police Sgt. Bisa French said. The victim was taking his afternoon walk at about 3:40 p.m. when he was attacked in the 2800 block of Humphrey Avenue.French said the victim was severely beaten and was in “very critical condition” tonight at a local hospital. Investigators were able to create a suspect sketch based on information from witnesses to the assault.The suspect is described as a white man, 18 to 20 years old, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was last seen running west on Rheem Avenue from 29th Street.The Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
