San Jose police today identified 18-year-old Ronald Gomez as the man who was fatally shot during an altercation following a party in San Jose early Sunday morning.Hospital officials called the San Jose Police Department at about 3:05 a.m. to report that two shooting victims had walked into the hospital at about the same time, Officer Jose Garcia said.Officer Jermaine Thomas said today that the altercation resulted in gunfire in the area of Glen Hardy Court at Glen Hanleigh Drive.Gomez and another victim, a 19-year-old man, both residents of San Jose, were driven to the hospital by friends, according to Thomas.The second victim’s condition has not been released, but he is expected to survive, Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said. He and Gomez were acquainted, Thomas said, but he did not know how they knew each other.Police are continuing to investigate the shootings and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Sgt. Dave Tindall or Detective John Barg of the Police Department’s homicide unit at (408) 277-5283.
