Police in Salinas are searching for a suspect who shot a woman’s vehicle as she was driving away from him in the city Friday evening. At about 5 p.m., a male approached a vehicle driven by a 39-year-old woman after she had stopped on Terrace Street between Carr Avenue and N. Madeira Avenue to allow him to cross the street, according to Salinas police. The male, who weighs about 160 pounds and is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, said something to the woman and tried to open the driver’s side door.  As the woman was accelerating away from him, she heard a gunshot and the back of her vehicle was reportedly struck by a bullet.  Two children were passengers in her vehicle. No one was injured.  The woman drove to a relative’s house and called police. The area
was searched, but the suspect was not found. The suspect, who is between 16 and 18 years old, has spiked hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and black baggie jeans when he shot the woman’s vehicle, according to police.  Please call the Fugitive Watch hot line at 1-800-9-CAUGHT (1-800-922-8448) or text us at 408-355-0999 if you know the names of these suspects or have any information.
