* Vacaville Gang Member Elvis Perez, 27 In Court For Shooting Man In The Face

A 20-year-old man who was shot in the face during an alleged gang fight Friday remains in stable condition today at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.Vacaville police Sgt. Jim Mayoral said the shooting victim will be transferred to a Kaiser Hospital in the Bay Area. The man arrested for the shooting, Elvis Perez, 27, of Vacaville, was scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in Solano County Superior Court for attempted murder, being a street gang member and being a felon in possession of a firearm.The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken by a friend to Vaca Valley Hospital after the shooting, which occurred in the 1400 block of Alamo Drive Friday, Mayoral said. Police contacted the victim at the hospital around 9:15 p.m.Police received an anonymous tip that Perez was at a home in the 500 block of Elmira Road Sunday evening, Mayoral said. As police were about to enter the front door, Perez fled through a back window, Mayoral said. Police chased Perez and arrested him at the nearby
Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, Mayoral said. He was booked into the Solano County jail.
