The Contra Costa County coroner’s office has identified 4-month-old Everett Carey as the child who died Monday after being found unresponsive in his father’s car at BART’s El Cerrito Plaza station. The infant’s mother found him at about 5:35 p.m. in a silver Chrysler at the station and called 911, BART spokesman Linton Johnson said. It appears as though Carey had been in the car most of the day, Johnson said.  He said investigators have learned the boy’s father typically leaves him with a babysitter or some type of nursery in the morning and then goes to the station to take a train.  When the Carey’s mother discovered her child wasn’t where he was supposed to be, she went to the station and found him in the car, Johnson said.  The infant was taken to Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo where he was pronounced dead at 6:02 p.m., Johnson said.
