* Concord Man Shot In The Leg By Alleged Shooter Daniel DeLeon While Trying To Break Up Domestic Dispute

A man was shot in the leg in Concord early Monday morning after he allegedly attempted to intervene in a domestic dispute, police said.Daniel DeLeon III, the alleged shooter, was having a verbal argument with a woman on Saint Philip Court off of Willow Pass Road, Concord police Lt. Jim Lardieri said. The victim, a 48-year-old man, overheard the argument and attempted to intervene, Lardieri said.DeLeon, 23, of Bay Point, allegedly walked away for a moment and returned with a handgun. He allegedly shot the victim once in the leg and fled.Police received a call reporting the shooting at 2:40 a.m. Responding officers found the victim in the street. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.Officers searched the area and found DeLeon hiding in some bushes nearby. He was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
