*Jameel Beals Identified as Oakland Shooting Murder Victim

Oakland police said today that the victim of a shooting at Pippen Street and 107th Avenue on Saturday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Jameel Beals of Oakland. Officers responded around 11 a.m. to reports of shots fired and someone lying on the ground. They found Beals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police spokesman Officer Jeff Thomason said. Beals was taken to Highland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  Thomason said anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the homicide section at (510) 238-7230.
