*Mario Silva Perez Arrested for Allegedly Choking Wife and Trying to Hit His Child with a Rifle

Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a heavy equipment operator in an unincorporated area of Monterey County near Salinas on Saturday after he
allegedly choked his wife and said he was going to kill her in front of their three children. After 46-year-old Mario Silva Perez allegedly choked his wife, he
tried to hit one of his children with a rifle, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies responded to the home in the 6900 block of Oak Estates Drive where the incidents were reported at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday and arrested Perez. He was transported to Monterey County Jail.
