Police today released a sketch of one the suspects believed to be responsible for a series of home-invasion robberies and attempted robberies in Richmond over the past six weeks.Police are also offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for carrying out the robberies, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said.The first robbery happened April 28 in the 200 block of South 22nd Street, French said.Lt. Mark Gagan said that the victim had been returning home from work at about 2:20 a.m. when he opened the door to his home and was confronted by four armed suspects, three men and a woman.The suspects had already detained the man’s wife, two adult children and a houseguest. They detained the man as well and then ransacked the house, robbing the victims of jewelry and other valuables, Gagan said.One of the suspects also took a victim’s ATM card and went to a nearby ATM machine to withdraw money, Gagan said.The next robbery happened May 26 in the 2500 block of Gaynor Avenue, French said.The victims, a man and wife, their friend and a child, were returning home at about 11 p.m. when three suspects forced their way inside, held the victims at gunpoint and bound them with electrical cords and belts, Richmond police Lt. Mike Gormley said. The suspects then stole ATM cards and comic books and fled the scene, Gormley said. Within minutes, Richmond police were called to a report of an attempted home invasion nearby in the 700 block of Ventura Street in East Richmond, Gormley said.Another attempted home-invasion robbery was reported that same night on Amador Street, French said.Investigators believe that all the robberies and attempted robberies are connected, French said.
