*James Fred Freeman Jr Identified as Oakland Stabbing Murder Victim

A 62-year-old man whose body was found near an Oakland church Tuesday morning has been identified today as James Fred Freeman Jr., according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau. Freeman was found dead with stab wounds in the 3600 block of Penniman Avenue near Koinonia Ministries Inc. around 6:30 a.m., according to the coroner’s bureau. His city of residence was unknown. Police spokesman Jeff Thomason said no suspects have been arrested.
