A trial date for Combs has not been set.Testimony at the pair’s preliminary hearing in February pointed to Williams as the person who shot Garcia once in the head in the 5000 block of Silverado Drive in Cordelia on Sept. 1. Garcia had been visiting a friend there.Williams’ girlfriend, Nicole Stewart, testified at the preliminary hearing that Williams and Combs believed the driver of a new Cadillac that passed them on Silverado Drive was a drug dealer they had been planning to confront. The Cadillac’s driver, however, was actually Garcia. Bowers on Monday denied a request by Combs’ attorney, William Pendergast, to dismiss the complaint against his client.Pendergast argued at the February hearing that there was no evidence Combs was part of a plan to assist or commit murder.Combs and Williams are being held under no bail in the Solano County jail.
