Mt. View Sears Robbery Suspect Needs to Be Identified

The Mt. View Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in this photograph.  Detective Brian Egan reports that on April 6th 2009, at about 8;30pm this suspect entered the Sears Department store, 455 San Antonio Road. After entering the store he grabbed three pairs of pants and walked into one of the fitting rooms. He quickly exited the fitting room and began walking toward the exit doors. A lost prevention employee (victim) ran to the fitting room and realized the clothes were gone. The victim contacted the suspect outside the store and attempted to detain him. The suspect allegedly attacked the victim, punching him numerous times in the face and head. The suspect then got into a get away car and fled the scene. The get way car is described  as a purple 1995 Volks Jetta 4 door, license #5PCG074. The car’s registered owner is a Juan Antonio Rojas from the 1400 block of  Foxdale Loop #755, San Jose.  Police were unable to find the car or people at the residence. The vehicle was recently sold to a Ruben Valencia out of East Palo Alto. Police were unable to find the car or people at that residence either.
