San Jose police shot and killed a 27-year-old San Jose man Sunday after he allegedly charged at officers with a knife. Officers responded to a report of a family disturbance in the 900 block of Branbury Way at about 11:35 a.m.Relatives at the residence reported that a 29-year-old man had been stabbed. Arriving officers confronted a man involved in the disturbance. He was holding a knife, according to officers, and refused to drop it when officers ordered him to, police said. At least one of the officers shot him when the man charged at the officers with the knife, according to police.The man was pronounced dead at the residence.The San Jose Police Department’s homicide, crime scene and internal affairs units are investigating the shooting, which is being
monitored by an investigator of the district attorney’s office.Police encourages anyone with information about the case to contact detective Sgt. Dave Tindall or detective John Barg of the homicide unit at (408) 277-5283.
