*Fairfield Police Arrest Precilliano Vidrio, Brian Smith, Angel Amaya, Shylyn Vanover During Gang Sweep

The Fairfield Police Department’s special enforcement teamconducted a “maximum enforcement” gang sweep in the city Friday and made five arrests during the operation. Precilliano Vidrio, 18, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale, according to police. Brian Smith, 21, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale, as well as having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Angel Amaya, 18, was arrested for possession of a switchblade knife, according to police. Shylyn Vanover, 20, was arrested for loitering with the intent to commit prostitution. A 15-year-old was also arrested for violation of probation. During the operation, officers made more than 60 traffic enforcement stops, issued 15 citations, and conducted 43 field interviews, 14 probation searches, and three parole searches. The Vacaville Police Department’s crime suppression team and the Fairfield parole unit of the California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation assisted in the operation.
