A 32-year-old parolee was arrested today on suspicion of carjacking and kidnapping another man in the parking lot of a Martinez 7-Eleven in March, police said.Officers responded to the Bay Point area at about 4 p.m. today after the suspect, Lance Eugene Pearson of Martinez, was located.Authorities witnessed Pearson drive away from the Bay Point location and followed him to a house in the 2200 block of Wayne Street in Martinez, police said.Officers set up a perimeter in the area and, about 30 minutes later, Pearson left the house. He allegedly fled on foot into the 2200 block of Yale Street, where officers were waiting to make the arrest. He was booked into the county jail in Martinez on an arrest warrant for carjacking, for an earlier felony evading charge and a parole violation hold. Additionally, Pearson had three grams of methamphetamine on him when he was arrested, police said.Pearson is alleged to have carjacked and kidnapped a man in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at 530 Morello Ave. in Martinez on March 9. He allegedly ordered the victim to drive to Concord where he let him out.The abandoned vehicle was located later that day.
