Two men were arrested and a third is being sought after a pursuit that started in Fremont involving a stolen vehicle early this morning, Fremont police Detective Bill Veteran said. The incident began at about 1:30 a.m. in the 42000 block of Blacow Road when a Fremont police officer saw a suspicious vehicle, a 1991 Honda, at a Hutch’s gas station. After initiating a traffic stop, the officer was approaching the vehicle on foot when it drove off eastbound on Washington Boulevard and onto northbound Interstate Highway 680, Veteran said.A pursuit ensued, and ended about 10 minutes later on Calaveras Road in unincorporated Alameda County near Sunol when the vehicle drove off the roadway and stopped, according to police.Three people fled the vehicle and ran into a hillside grassy area to hide, but two people, Jesus Gonzales and Daniel Perez, were found and arrested, according to Veteran, who said the third suspect was able to get away.Gonzales was arrested for evading arrest, possession of burglary tools, and being an unlicensed driver, while Perez was arrested for possessing burglary tools, and also had a warrant out for his arrest, police said.Newark police, including a K-9 unit, assisted during the incident, which lasted about an hour, according to police.
