Solano County Sheriff’s deputies found a man dead in the backyard of a home near Vallejo today and detained one man before and one man after they surrounded the house for about four hours, a sheriff’s deputy said. Deputies got a call that shots were fired in the 1200 block of Taylor Avenue in an unincorporated area around 11:20 p.m., sheriff’s Deputy Daryl Snedeker said. They detained one man who was leaving the house and saw another man lying on the ground in the backyard when they responded, Snedeker said. To protect law enforcement agents, a SWAT unit and deputies set up a perimeter and a mobilization device so they could safely approach the man on the ground. The victim was most likely shot to death, he said. When deputies approached the body, they also threw a phone into the house to make contact with anyone inside, but no one responded. No one was inside the home when they entered around 4:30 p.m., but they found and detained a man hiding in the brush on the 1-acre lot, Snedeker said. One of the two men detained was most likely a resident at the house, he said. Deputies are still investigating the situation and trying to figure out the relationships among the three.
