* San Francisco Women Elisa M. Lipkins Admits Robbing Bank Of America at 3565 California St., While Serving Sentence For Previous Robbery

A 43-year-old woman admitted Thursday in federal court in San Francisco that she robbed a bank in San Francisco last year while she was serving the end of a 2004 sentence at an Oakland halfway house for another bank robbery.According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Elisa M. Lipkins had been serving the end of her 70-month sentence at the halfway house when, on Dec. 23, she gave a robbery note to a teller at the Bank of America at 3565 California St., and escaped with $7,020. Lipkins pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of bank robbery, the maximum penalty for which is 20 years in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.Lipkins remains in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 20.
