About 7,000 marijuana plants with a street value of roughly $10 million were eradicated and a 28-year-old San Jose man was arrested Tuesday in an unincorporated part of Santa Clara County near Saratoga. Deputies from the sheriff’s office marijuana eradication team, along with a warden from the California Department of Fish and Game, entered the marijuana garden at about 10 a.m. Tuesday in a rural part of the county near Sanborn Road and state Highway 9.As the deputies secured the garden, they encountered a man near the plants and quickly apprehended him without incident. During the arrest, the suspect was found to have a loaded handgun in his waistband, according to the sheriff’s office.The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Othoniel Rivas Buelna. He was booked into Santa Clara County jail on $1 million bail.
