An 11-year-old girl who was shot last December while attending a high school soccer game in King City has died, according to the Monterey County Coroner’s Unit.Esther Rubio succumbed to her injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose at 6:22 p.m. Monday, according to the coroner’s unit. An autopsy will be performed Wednesday.Three juvenile suspects are in custody in connection with the shooting, said Terry Spitz of the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office. Spitz said his office will reassess the case this week to determine whether they will alter any of the charges as a result of Rubio’s death. Also up for discussion is the possibility of trying any of the three juveniles as adults, he said.The suspects are scheduled to appear in juvenile court June 11, Spitz said, but the district attorney’s office hopes to make a decision on any new charges by the end of the week.
