A 49-year-old transient was arrested in Santa Rosa for shooting one person and assaulting two others Sunday afternoon, according to police.Police responded to a report of a man with a gun near the railroad tracks at West College Avenue at about 5:10 p.m., according to the Santa Rosa Police Department. Responding officers found a person who had been shot. The victim was transported in stable condition to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Officers set up a perimeter to search for a suspected shooter, later identified as Calvin McDonald, and reported locating two additional victims who told police they had also been assaulted by McDonald in the same incident but were not injured.McDonald was located by police shortly thereafter on River Road north of Santa Rosa, according to police, and was arrested without incident. McDonald was booked at Sonoma County Jail on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.The injured victim was released from the hospital Sunday, according to police.
