Vallejo police are investigating a shooting during an attempted robbery outside a Jack in the Box restaurant late Saturday night. Police responded at 10:20 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Broadway near Tennessee Street, Lt. Abel Tenorio said. Officers found 23-year-old Delon Bennett of Vallejo had been shot four times during an attempted robbery by two suspects. Another man who was with Bennett ran from the scene, Tenorio said. Bennett was taken by helicopter to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, Tenorio said. He was initially in critical condition but he is listed as stable today and should be discharged within a few days, Tenorio said. Police said the two male suspects are still at large. Police recovered multiple shell casings of different calibers from at least two different guns, Tenorio said. It’s unknown if the man with Bennett also was armed, Tenorio said. Narcotics also were recovered at the scene, Tenorio said. Please call the Fugitive Watch hot line at 1-800-9-CAUGHT (1-800-922-8448) or text us at 408-355-0999 if you have any information.
