Officers arrested five teenagers from Oakland on suspicion of robbing three pedestrians at gunpoint in San Leandro Thursday night and evading police in a stolen van for about nine miles, a police lieutenant said today. The five boys, ages 14 to 17, are suspected of robbing a man near the corner of Parrot and Clarke streets at around 9:30 p.m. and two other men soon after on the south end of town, San Leandro police Lt. Pete Ballew said. Police saw the getaway van – which they determined had been stolen after they ran the plates – and chased it to High Street west of Brookdale Avenue in Oakland, Ballew said.  The boys parked there around 10:45 p.m. and three of them fled while the other two stayed and were arrested, he said.  Police found and arrested the other three by midnight. Officers found one firearm inside the van.
