San Francisco police tonight will mark the five-year anniversary of the death of Officer Isaac Espinoza with a memorial service at the Bayview Police Station. While on duty on April 10, 2004, Espinoza, 29, was fatally shot by a 21-year-old Bayview District gang member. David Hill was sentenced in 2007 to life in prison for Espinoza’s killing. At 8 p.m., police will hold a 20-minute ceremony at the station’s Isaac Espinoza Memorial Garden, designed by artist and landscape architect Topher Delaney. Following the ceremony, police will conduct an all-channel radio broadcast and a moment of silence.
