*Redwood City Man David John Maze To Stand Trial For Sending Naked Picture To Teen

A 28-year-old man accused of sending a picture of his genitals to a 15-year-old girl was found competent to stand trial in San Mateo County Superior Court on Wednesday.David John Maze met the teenage girl at the Hillsdale Caltrain station in San Mateo. He allegedly told her he was 18 and she told him she was 16, Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.The two exchanged a series of text messages, and Maze eventually sent the girl the naked picture, according to Wagstaffe.Maze then spoke on the phone with the victim’s mother, believing it was the teenage girl. Her mother invited Maze to their home, where San Mateo police arrested him, Wagstaffe said.Two doctors filed reports on Maze and both found him competent tostand trial.
