A man was arrested Sunday for allegedly exposing himself to a family in a Windsor park and repeatedly walking around naked in his backyard, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department.The Windsor Police Department reported receiving calls beginning in August 2008 that 64-year-old Richard Chiddix had been seen naked in his yard on Billington Lane, according to the sheriff’s department. Windsor officers said they confronted Chiddix about his alleged lewd conduct, but at the request of a witness did not file a complaint.Sheriff’s deputies responded to Robbins Park on Jan. 12, 2009, where a woman said a man exposed himself while she was with her two children. The man was later identified as Chiddix, according to the sheriff’s Department, which sought a warrant for his arrest after learning about prior reports of indecent exposure at Chiddix’ home.Investigators said Chiddix fled the Windsor area fearing arrest shortly after the incident in Robbins Park and avoided arrest until Sunday evening when Windsor police received at tip that he was at a home in Santa Rosa.Santa Rosa police arrested Chiddix for indecent exposure and lewd conduct in public, according to the sheriff’s department, with bail set at $50,000.Anyone with information regarding this or similar incidents is asked to contact Detective Mike Yoder of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit at (707) 565-7600.
