A former Sonoma Valley Youth Soccer Association coach is on the way back from Los Angeles this afternoon to face allegations he had a sexual relationship with an underage girl on his traveling team.Sheriff’s detectives arrested Gregory Vance Tatton, 43, at a home in West Hollywood Friday night, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Dave Thompson said.He faces allegations of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor age 14 or 15 and being at least 10 years older than the victim, and oral copulation with a victim under age 18, Thompson said. The alleged victim was on the soccer association’s traveling team for girls under age 17, which played as far north as Redding and as far south as San Diego, Thompson said.Tatton was dismissed as a coach after his November 2007 arrest for having false registration tags on his vehicle, but there were rumors about his ongoing sexual relationship with at least one of the girl players, Thompson said. The sheriff’s department began investigating the allegations at that time.”He was a great coach but he had this underlying predatory behavior,” Thompson said. The sheriff’s department believes there may be other victims, Thompson said. The allegations do not mention the use of force but the girl was not old enough to give consent, Thompson said.Tatton had been living in his car and at friends’ homes since November 2007, Thompson said. He was booked in the Los Angeles County jail under $150,000 bail after his arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court Wednesday, Thompson said.
