*Antioch Parolee Montai Glaspie Arrested In Connection With The Fatal Shooting of 22-Year-Old Tereall Atkins

A 20-year-old Antioch parolee was arrested Friday on suspicion of fatally shooting his neighbor during a dispute at the neighbor’s apartment April 1, Antioch police announced today.Antioch police, with help from the California State Parole office and the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Montai Glaspie at about 3 p.m. Friday in Antioch in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Tereall Atkins.On the night of the killing, Antioch police received a 911 call shortly after 9:30 p.m. from a person in an apartment complex at 3421 Hudson Court crying into the phone.At about the same time, security guards at the apartment complex heard shots fired.When police arrived, they were directed to Atkins’ apartment, where they found the victim lying in the doorway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.Police attempted to resuscitate him, but their efforts failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.Glaspie, who also lived in the apartment complex, was booked into county jail and is being held without bail.
