*Oakland, 36-Year-Old Quang “John” Quach Fatally Shot

A man who was fatally shot Saturday night has been identified by the Oakland Police Department today as 36-year-old Quang “John” Quach.The shooting was reported at about 7 p.m. in the 600 block of Foothill Boulevard, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.A witness directed responding officers to a residence with a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced Quach dead, Thomason said. Quach was an Oakland resident.No arrests have been made and no suspect information was available.The shooting was one of three violent incidents in the city Saturday night.A woman was stabbed in the neck at about 10:15 p.m. in the 800 block of 22nd Street, police said. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, and a suspect was arrested in connection with the stabbing, according to police.Another shooting was reported at about 11:20 p.m. in the 6200 block of Brand Avenue. The victim arrived at a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
