Apr 2, 2009 – BCN25:MONTEREY CO.: FOUR ARRESTED IN WELFARE FRAUD SWEEP

A team of special investigators from the district attorney’s office made a sweep of Monterey County Wednesday to target individuals with outstanding warrants related to welfare fraud.Investigating officers reported making four arrests on welfare-related offenses including forgery, perjury, and fraudulently receiving public funds under false pretense, District Attorney Dean Flippo said in a statement.Taken into custody were 32-year-old Xochiti Alfaro of Salinas, 37-year-old Juana Morales of Salinas, 45-year-old Armando Perez of Gonzales and 43-year-old Jacqueline Dunne of Marina, according to the district attorney’s office All four are awaiting arraignment, with individual bail amounts ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.
