In the chill of the morning air,
when all appeared safe and secure.
What these officers had no way of knowing,
they were beginning their last shift of duty.
Should have been a routine traffic stop,
they advised him not to exit his car.
However he had nothing to lose,
and the shots could be heard from afar.
Things then became so very personal,
as their lifeless bodies lay on the ground.
Then you heard the words that stand still,
“All units, Officers are down”.
A mist of glow befell upon the scene,
the Archangel Michael in spiritual radiance shone.
Watching over those in the uniform of blue,
they are his charges, children of the throne.
While many among us do not realize this,
our heavenly Father knows them all by name.
Their honor, integrity, courage and pride.
though none ever sought any glorious fame.
On bended knee, his head bowed low,
through tears that had come and gone.
Michael gathered each of these Officers in his arms,
to slowly begin the Ascension’s journey on.
At heaven’s magnificent gate was God,
his heart waiting for this soul to embrace.
“Welcome home my sons, my heroic Police Officers,
come now and walk with me in eminent grace”.
