Fairfield police arrested two 19-year-old men who allegedly robbed a man and woman Saturday evening. A 20-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were walking on Tabor Avenue near Fairfield Avenue at about 6:25 p.m. when they were approached by the two suspects, who began punching the male victim until he fell to the ground, police said.The suspects went through his pockets and stole personal items, according to police.They also asked the female victim if she had any money, and when she said no, they grabbed her purse and fled on foot. The purse was discarded and later located a short distance away, police said.Officers responding to the scene found two men matching the description of the suspects walking on Fairfield Avenue and arrested them after the victims positively identified them as the suspects, according to police.Rasheed Strane and Keith Williams, both of Fairfield, were arrested for robbery and booked into county jail, police said.The male victim sustained minor bruising to his face but declined medical care, according to police.
