A 32-year-old Oakland woman was charged with murder today for allegedly shooting to death a 15-year-old girl following a series of disputes last week, according to Alameda County Assistant District Attorney Tom Rogers. The prosecutor said Angela Marie Townsel is expected to be arraigned sometime this afternoon in Alameda County Superior Court for the death of Tomiko Blacksher.Rogers said he also charged Townsel for using a gun in the incident, which occurred at about 1:35 a.m. Thursday outside a three-story apartment building in the 6400 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland. In addition, Rogers said he charged Townsel with negligently discharging a firearm for allegedly shooting into the air during a dispute with Blacksher and some of Blacksher’s relatives at the complex several hours earlier, on Wednesday evening. If Townsel is convicted of all the charges against her she could face more than 50 years to life in state prison.Rogers declined to comment on the motive for the fatal shooting but said Townsel and Blacksher knew each other because Townsel lived on the second floor of the apartment complex and Blacksher lived with her family on the third floor. The prosecutor said Townsel fired multiple shots at Blacksher and that one of those shots struck Blacksher in the middle of her chest and killed her.Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint said Blacksher enrolled at Oakland High School in March 2008 but didn’t attend classes very often and didn’t re-enroll for the current school year.
