*Bryant Lee Suspect In High School Students Beating Surrenders In Hawaii

Vallejo police said today another suspect in the beating of Jesse Bethel High School student Bryant Lee surrendered Monday to police in Honolulu, Hawaii.Arrangements are being made to bring 21-year-old Alanzo Brumfield back to California, Vallejo police Lt. Abel Tenorio said. There are now eight suspects in the Jan. 15 beating, Tenorio said. Two of the suspects are juveniles. There are no additional suspects at this time, Tenorio said.Police previously arrested brothers Ron Tili and Ray Tili, both 18, Alexander Tili and Abraham Tili, both 26, 18-year-old Kevin Young and 17-year-old Nicholas Cole who is being prosecuted as an adult. A 15-year-old boy surrendered to police Jan. 29.A preliminary hearing for the Tilis, Cole and Young is scheduled
for March 27. A readiness conference is scheduled for Friday in Solano County Superior Court in Vallejo.Bryant, 17, and other basketball players were outside the student union area waiting for basketball practice to begin when the beating occurred, Vallejo City Unified School District spokesman Jason Hodge said. The beating was recorded by a school surveillance camera.Bryant was kicked, punched and choked and was taken to a hospital in Walnut Creek, Hodge said.
