*Monterey Co. Man Who Allegedly Cut Wife’s Face Remains At Large

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office today is searching for a 23-year-old man who allegedly cut his wife’s face and then attempted to strangle her before she was able to escape. Martin Valle was allegedly arguing with his wife Tuesday in the Royal Oaks area of the county when he held a knife to her throat and cut her face, according to the sheriff’s office. When he released his wife and she walked away, Valle allegedly knocked her to the ground and choked her.The woman was able to escape her husband and call 911, but Valle fled before sheriff’s deputies arrived.While fleeing, Valle was apparently involved in a traffic collision. Valle again fled before deputies arrived, and he remains at large.Valle is described as standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
