*Hercules Suspect Arrested In Connection With Hercules Homicide

Police have identified a woman who appears to have been beaten to death inside her home in Hercules’ Victoria by the Bay neighborhood this morning as 43-year-old Wyander Ricketts, Hercules spokeswoman Michelle Harrington said. Police have also arrested 56-year-old Norman Mcginnis on suspicion of murder, Harrington said.Police received a call at about 10 a.m. reporting an unconscious woman inside a home on Ivy Bay street.When officers arrived, they found Ricketts dead inside the home. According to Harrington, Ricketts appeared to have sustained severe head injuries.Mcginnis was in the house when officers arrived. He was detained for questioning and later arrested.The killing is the city’s first homicide since 2004, according to Harrington.
