A 31-year-old man was arrested in Cordelia Wednesday morning after he was allegedly found to have about five pounds of packaged marijuana in his possession, according to the Fairfield Police Department.Fairfield officers conducting a motel compliance check in Cordelia discovered a tenant had an active warrant for domestic violence, police said.When the officers went to the room to arrest the person, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the room, according to police.After arresting the suspect, Ukiah resident Jonah Saperstein, the officers allegedly found several pounds of packaged marijuana and about $2,000 in cash, police said.The officers then searched Saperstein’s pickup truck in the parking lot, where they allegedly found several more pounds of marijuana, according to police. Officers believe Saperstein is responsible for transporting marijuana across state lines. He was booked into Solano County Jail for possession of marijuana for sale and transportation, as well as the domestic violence warrant, police said.
