Vacaville police arrested two men early Saturday morning after responding to reports of a suspect brandishing a firearm.The incident began at about 4 a.m. when officers responded to the 1900 block of Northwood Drive, according to police.The officers located Alejandro Figueroa sitting on steps near his apartment and holding a gun in his hand. Figueroa was quickly taken into custody, police said.The victims of the reported weapon brandishing told police that a second suspect was in an upstairs apartment. As officers searched for the suspect, Robert Hanna walked out of his apartment with a large dog that was either a pit bull or bulldog.The dog became aggressive toward the officers, who told Hanna to grab the dog and secure it back in the residence, according to police.The dog began running toward the officers, who shot at it. The dog immediately ran away, and it is unknown whether the dog was struck by the shots, police said. Hanna was eventually identified as the suspect who brandished the gun at the victims, while Figueroa allegedly brandished a knife, according to police.Hanna was arrested for brandishing a firearm, possession of a loaded and unregistered firearm in public, and two outstanding warrants.Figueroa was arrested for brandishing a knife and possession of a loaded and unregistered firearm in public, police said.Anyone with further information about this incident is encouraged to contact Vacaville police Officer Andrew Yetter at (707) 449-5200.
