*Richmond 16 Year-Year-Old Taken Off Life Support After Saturday Shooting

A 16-year-old Richmond boy died early this morning after being shot early Saturday morning at a family birthday party, a police sergeant said.The shooting was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 3100 block of Ohio Avenue, according to Richmond police. A critically wounded teenager was taken from the home by relatives to the Kaiser Medical Foundation campus with a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.The victim’s organs were harvested before he was taken off life support at about 2:15 a.m. today,police Sgt. Mitch Peixoto said tonight.Investigators were told that the boy had stepped outside a relative’s birthday party and was standing in front of the house when he was shot.There was no apparent motive for the shooting, and Peixoto said no arrests have been made and no suspect information was available as of tonight.Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact Richmond police Detective Eric Haupt at (510) 620-6622 or the detective division at (510) 620-6612.I
